About Us

Cavalier Rescue Midwest INC (CRM) is a regional, foster based, all volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our current adoption areas include IL, IN, IA, WI, MI, MN, MO, OH. Consideration is given to established raw feeder that live outside our established adoption are. Keep in mind all adopters must be living to travel to meet adopted dog. We have foster homes primarily in IL and WI. CRM services the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, known Cavalier blends and the English Toy Spaniel. All dogs are evaluated by a veterinarian versed in the breeds and their needs, brought up to date on medical and fostered in our volunteers homes where they learn how to live in a caring, loving home. Our ultimate goal is to find and place each dog into a forever home. We are the first holistically based rescue for Cavaliers, Cavalier Blends and English Toy Spaniels in the US and Canada.

CRM is a holistically based rescue. We have seen through personal and professional experience that food therapy through fresh, species appropriate raw diets, the lives of dogs can change, given them a chance to live longer more vibrant lives. One must feed or be willing to change to a raw diet and use only natural flea prevention and well as minimal vaccines. CRM prides ourselves on education. Cathy is certified in Raw Dog Food Nutrition.

CRM was started 09/2019 by Cathy Schadel, Lori Koehler and Lisa Crusciani Current board members include Cathy Schadel,Jane Flynn, Patrick Flynn, Emily Schirding, Sheila Scaggs, Gina Cameron, Patty Bernad and Lauren Fanfer. We have a strong rescue background with over 80 yrs combined!

CRM was created out of the need for a holistic, nutritionally sound and natural healing approach to rescue. All of the co founders were already on board with this regime and sought out board members of the like...and so it began!!

CRM is a referral only rescue, meaning we do not actively “look for dogs”, we do not go to dog auctions. We will help the dogs that come to us via breeders, owners, other rescues and shelters.
